Details

2000 - I was 29 years old.

The title is inspired by my friend Brian. He loaned me a book (I've since forgotten which book) and when reading it I discovered that he highlighted every reference to the number eleven. The rest of the lyrics are based around stories that I heard from various friends over the years. I believe I even sent out an email soliciting stories that I could use. Other parts are just made up because I thought the words sounded interesting.

Lyrics

Eleven is my lucky number I’ve circled every page in my book Thanks for the drink I think I’ll have another I’m getting liquored up this time for sure.

It’s all out of order now Eleven I’m only getting older now Eleven I’m feeling so lazy now Eleven I think I’m going crazy now Eleven

That fat cat won’t ever give me nothing Someone some time somewhere has got to give I’m looking for a place to sleep tonight or something No, I was thinking of large apartment downtown.

[chorus]

I think you inhaled too much helium Messing with your equilibrium Not the brightest fish in the aquarium Can you row your little boat ashore?

I think you told me something that was untrue Could you get up please you’re sitting on my head I’ve got myself a little picture of you It’s hanging on a tiny hook inside my heart

[chorus]

Got a problem with absenteeism Hiding in the bushes I think I can see ‘em Try to play dead in a mausoleum Have you stacked your mental blocks before?
